Nonaqueous Drilling Fluid Systems

HTODRILL High Temperature High Density Nonaqueous Drilling Fluid

Overview:

HTODRILL is a high temperature high density Nonaqueous Drilling Fluid system and it offers the benefits of low and stable ECD. It is based on the principle of self-assembly of core primer on solid surface or interlayer. The system has good emulsion stability at high temperatures. The mud system offers the benefits of stable rheological properties and excellent barite sag. It has been specifically developed for high temperature and high pressure wells. It has been used in the west of the South China Sea, Indonesia, Xinjiang and other regions. It has successfully resolved the problems of high temperature instability and poor barite sag of other mud systems. It has significantly improved the ROP or drilling performances.

Applicability:

Temperature: 150 ~ 232 ℃;Density: 1.0~2.4 g/cm3

Characteristics:

Excellent rheological properties at high temperatures;Tolerant to contaminations;Excellent barite sag with low viscosity;Small variation of ECD at high density.

Background:

A well in a high-temperature and high-pressure block in Southeast Asia has a well temperature of 193 ℃, density of 1.92 g/cm3, operating density window of 0.08 g/cm3, and high H2S and CO2 acid gas content.

Challenge:

High temperature: 193 ℃

Operation density window: 0.08 g/cm3,

Job results:

HTODRILL system shows excellent high-temperature stability, effectively controls acid gas pollution, ECD fluctuation range is only within 0.05 g/cm3, and avoids lost circulation.
